“Demo n’ Swap Night”
Grimsby Pumphouse, 447 Elizabeth St, Grimsby, ON
Come n’ check out gear that you’re curious about
• Rods: Rubber rods, Big Nasty, Jerkbait
• Reels – Tranx 500 & 400 HG/PG
• Baits: – jerk, glide, topwater, spinners n’ whatever you ask for
• Bait tuning
Some guys in the club use these better than others – why not learn from the best.
If you’ve got any of above, or anything interesting, bring it and show it off…
We’ve got the place booked from 6-9, why not bring those great baits you no longer use and sell or trade ‘em… There are 6 buffet tables there, first come first serve so bring your own if you can… Suggest putting prices on them or if you’ve got lots like me – blocking out the table into sections with masking tape.
Should be a great night to get gear sorted out and perhaps get a few tips from those who’ve been catching fish…
Lots of pubs in the area to adjourn to for some refreshments afterwards… My preference is the Judge n’ Jester – if we have a big turn out I’ll call and see if we can use their backroom…
Don’t miss our chapter outing this fall – September 28th at Memquisit on the West Arm
We had a big turn out last year, great hosts, a big prize table and one boat caught 7 fish!
Tuesday June 18th – Tys Theijsmeijer, 2014 Hamilton Environmentalist of the Year, will be talking to us about reintroducing muskie to Hamilton Harbour. It could be a huge opportunity to support the muskie population right on our doorstep!
May 21st – Hans the Carver will be the guest speaker at our May meeting. He’ll be talking about “techniques not many people do….and in places people traditionally don’t go” – targeting open lake Erie muskies & recent telemetry studies. He’s also going to bring one of his carvings… You won’t want to miss this one!
April 16th Red October Baits, Marc Arena will be speaking at our meeting this Tuesday. Marc has been hunting muskies on the Upper Niagara for many years and pioneered some of the most successful approaches – jigging and dragging tubes. He came several years ago and gave a great talk and his booth at the Odyssey sold out before noon so this is one you won’t want to miss!
March 19th – Kyle Moxon, one of the most successful guides on Lake St. Clair will come and tell us how it’s done. Kyle catches 50s when most are getting skunked and often boats more than 30 fish a day. Guests always welcome – great food, drinks and stories.
February 19th – Johnny Dadson will tell us about the Next Generation of Bucktails and fishing at the Next Level. Guests always welcome – great food, drinks and stories.
January 15th – Cullen Veiders of Muskies Candies will be talking about “adapting and remaining well rounded to capitalize” and a bit about his home water, the Niagara, and of course his baits… His bait page is https://www.facebook.com/MuskyCandies/
