The Lake Simcoe Muskellunge Restoration Project is currently seeking volunteers to help in it's egg collection efforts.
Above is a copy of the schedule for the Lake Simcoe Muskellunge Restoration Project egg collection efforts. The timeline for the project is outlined in red. Volunteers are welcome to participate in our egg collection efforts between April 29th and May 22nd. Egg collection efforts are expected to be completed by May 22nd. However, egg collection efforts will end upon the collection of the final family, so the last day of egg collection may happen before May 22nd. Please note that on every Monday, we will only be resetting nets. This means that it is unlikely that volunteers would see any muskellunge on Mondays.
Any people wishing to volunteer are required to sign a volunteer agreement form. All safety procedures will be explained by an MNR staff member before leaving the dock and all volunteers must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Any individuals that wish to volunteer should contact Stacey McKee.
