Monthly Chapter Meeting @ Royal Canadian Legion

We will have Dr Dave Lawrence – a post grad student working for Dr Steve Cooke at Carleton U – Dr Lawrence will be talking about the study we and three other Chapters of the club are supporting to examine the merits of treating bleeding fish with carbonated beverages this summer. Ought to be an interesting presentation.

Tony D will have the “Buffs| (UV head/neck protection) for sale and we hope to have the UV Shirts available as well!

We’ll also catch up on how folks have made out on the Rideau AND how everyone did on the Ottawa River opening weekend, which starts THIS FRIDAY. The river is still fast, high and cold with undoubtedly lots of “stuff” in the river from the flooding so PLEASE … be careful out there! Ross N also tells me some of the locals have reported some strict enforcement of the boating regulations – zero tolerance for missing life jackets and keep in mind, if you’ve got inflatable life jackets, they don’t count unless you are WEARING them. $256 for the ticket … OUCH!

Scott C will be running a draw at the break, and we’ll have some information about upcoming events. Hope Larry will have a good turnout – there’s no better place to get an idea of what’s working so far in 2019!
